NEWorks Produces Music for Time-Life/BET Infomercial

NEWjr and VOI Featured in 30-minute Promotional Video Promoting "Voices"


Time-Life/Warner is releasing “Voices” the first in a new series of gospel choir compilation CDs. To promote these releases, NEWorks has been tapped to produce music to be featured in an exclusive 30-minute infomercial set to run on the BET, BET-J and BET-Gospel Networks. 

The infomercial includes interviews with NOLAN WILLIAMS (Chief Music Editor of the AFRICAN AMERICAN HERITAGE HYMNAL and recording artist), publicist BIL CARPENTER, WHUR radio announcer JACQUIE GALES WEBB.   Also featured are Williams’ VOICES OF INSPIRATION, filmed live at the Omega Recording Studio in Rockville, Maryland, singing music from the CD compilation.

WASHINGTON, DC -- The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and

Georgetown University will celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

with a free, ticketed musical tribute on Monday, January 19, 2009 at 6:00 p.m.

in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. The program, part of the free daily

performance series on the Millennium Stage, features the Queen of Soul and

1994 Kennedy Center Honoree Aretha Franklin, hip hop violin duo Nuttin' But

Stringz, and the Let Freedom Ring Choir with Music Director Rev. Nolan

Williams, Jr.  Andrea Roane from WUSA Channel 9 hosts as Mistress of

Ceremonies.  Free tickets are required. Tickets will be distributed one (1) per

person in line in front of the Concert Hall, beginning at 4 p.m. on January 19, 2009.

American Cancer Society’s "Partnering for Life" CD

Nolan Williams/NEWorks Join Stellar CD Line-up in Support of Holistic Health and Wholeness

Washington, DC---In a rare collaborative effort to fight cancer in the African American community, the American Cancer Society has partnered with several local and national gospel recording artists to produce Partnering for Life, a musical and ministerial audio compilation designed to address the well being of the African American faith community from a holistic perspective: mind, body and spirit. The compact disc is the result of the year-long Partnering for Life initiative, which was created by the Society to address the alarming cancer and health disparities among the African American community.

"Research continues to show that African Americans have higher rates of cancer incidence and mortality than many other racial and ethnic groups. Unfortunately, African Americans have not benefited equally from advances in cancer prevention, early detection and treatment," said Denise Hyater, executive director of the American Cancer Society's National Capital region. "The Partnering for Life initiative is the Society's non-traditional method of engaging the faith community to help bring an end to health disparities in the African American community."

Rev. Nolan Williams, Jr., CEO of NEWorks Productions, joins stellar recording artists:  STEPHEN HURD, JONATHAN NELSON, PATRICK LUNDY & the Ministers of Music, Elder MELVIN BRYANT & Agapelove, Evangelist MYRNA SUMMERS & the Reid Temple Mass Choir, INGRID ROSARIO, MICHAEL WHITE & True Praise, and Minister ROSALIND LYNCH & the National Church of God Mass Choir.

"We have a stellar line up of national and local recording artists and ministers who have stepped up to volunteer their time and talent for this project" said Patrick Lundy, featured recording artist and producer for Partnering for Life. "Participants on this project see it as their responsibility as ministers in the body of Christ to encourage both physical and spiritual wholeness."

The American Cancer Society hopes that its CD and year-long efforts help listeners and participants incorporate a holistic health and wellness approach to help combat and eventually reduce the number of deaths related to these health diseases.

NEWorks Productions Produces Music for BET’s "EXALTED"

Washington, DC---Nolan Williams, Jr. and NEWorks Productions have been tapped to produce music for BET's new "spirit-hit" show "EXALTED!"

Williams, whose extensive industry work has established him as a songwriter, musician and producer, is one of a select core of musicians tapped to contribute songs for the show's soundtrack.

"EXALTED!" focuses on the lives and ministries of some of the major preachers of our times. The new weekly series explores the path that has led to the success of our country's premiere African American ministers.

Williams' writing and production partners for the "EXALTED!" series include artist/producer JOHN STODDART ("Wings to Walk This Road," Warner Bros.) and writer/producer WARREN JONES (who has also worked with recording artists Gideon Band and Isaiah Thomas).

"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute musically to this important work," says Williams. "EXALTED! is a well-conceived show that provides such an insightful look at some of today's premiere preachers."

"EXALTED!" reflects the effort of BET to launch programming that reaches out to the African American church community," according to Adriane Hopper, co-executive producer. "This show has been an incredible project for the Strange Fruit Films family to produce."
